Jonathan Klay is a graduate student in the Master of Public Policy program at the University of Maryland, specializing in International Security and Economic Policy. He is expected to graduate in May 2017. Jonathan obtained his undergraduate degree in history from Georgetown University, where he was a member of the Reserve Officer Training Corps. Upon graduation, he commissioned as a Second Lieutenant of Military Police in the United States Army Reserve. After graduation, Jonathan spent time on and off active duty with the Army Reserve, to include a tour at Guantanamo, Bay Cuba as a Company Executive Officer and Platoon Leader. He continues to serve as an Army Reservist.
As a Lockheed Martin Research Assistant, Jonathan conducts research on Department of Defense (DOD) weapons systems support and maintenance strategies focusing on both improving performance and reducing overall costs. Recently, he has contributed to case study reports on performance based business strategies and the modernization of existing weapons systems.
