Lisa H. Harrington is a researcher with the Center for Public Policy and Private Enterprise, and has worked with the Center for more than seven years. In her work at CPPPE, Lisa conducts thought-leading research into global supply chain strategy, best practices, risk and resiliency management, technology and analytics, and logistics strategy and execution in both the public and private sector. Areas of special focus are on defense, global health, environmental and disaster relief supply chain management. She is former Associate Director of the Supply Chain Management Center and a former faculty lecturer at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland. Additionally, Lisa is President of The Lharrington Group LLC, a woman-owned small business providing provides strategic consulting services across all areas of supply chain management. Current and past clients include such as DHL, EY, FedEx, BP, Caterpillar, Honeywell, Intel and Microsoft. She has also worked in the public sector for NASA, U.S. Agency for International Development, the U.S. Department of Defense and the United Nations Population Fund. She also co-founded and was co-director of the Washington, DC-based Sustainable Supply Chain Foundation. Lisa has co-authored three books: X-SCM: The New Science of X-treme Supply Chain Management (Taylor and Francis, September 2010), In Real Time: Managing the New Supply Chain (Praeger, 2005) and Logistics and the Extended Enterprise (John Wiley & Sons, 1999). She has written hundreds of articles on supply chain management for publications ranging from The Economist and Fortune, to Inbound Logistics. Lisa is a member and former Board of Directors Officer at the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals and the Warehousing Education and Research Council. She speaks, lectures and teaches all over the world. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Brown University, Providence, RI. She also holds an Executive Education Certificate in Logistics Management from Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI.
